Rethinking the Myth of Sky-Earth Separation: Focusing on Daesoon Thought

ABSTRACT

[Objective] This study puts weight on the fact that the phrases from the ancient Chinese literature such as『Shanhaijing』,『Shangshu』, and『GuoYu』, which contains the ancient story of‘Sky-Earth Separation,’ and the phrases from the modern Korean literature and the scriptures of Daesoon Jinrihoe『JeonGyeong』in the Example Section of 81, and in the Example Section of 8, will have the same meaning. This study aims to compare the phrases from the three books of the Chinese literature on ‘Sky-Earth Separation’ and the phrases from『JeonGyeong』 and to examine the meaning and direction of ‘Sky-Earth Separation’from Daesoon thought. [Contents] It was confirmed in the Example Section of 8 from『JeonGyeong』that the situation of ‘Sky-Earth Separation’ in the three books is a part of incompatibility in the Former World, and it was found that in the Latter World, the historical situations of the three Chinese books and those of『JeonGyeong』were the same as the Example Section of 81. [Conclusions] As a result, all four books of the literature were able to reveal that God could not reveal his virtue, and that the people influenced by God could not be trusted, and that role dissonance was the root cause of ‘Sky-Earth Separation.’ In the era of enlightenment of the Latter World, the reason why the Daesoon Jinrihoe aims for the time of King Yao and King Shun is that there existed the Kings Yao and Shun, the exemplary adults who practiced virtue to correct the order of God and humans and ruled everyone in the world according to the law in harmony after the ‘Sky-Earth Separation.’
