ABSTRACT
PURPOSE The purpose of this study is to urge the restoration of religious transcendence as a premise to restore the publicity of religion and to recall the transcendence and absoluteness of the ‘Yī zhě(一者)’ that we have forgotten.CONTENTS We reviewed how the ‘Yī zhě’ of thought history, which has lasted since ancient times, has been forgotten in our society since modern times. And we discussed how we can respond to the public issues by recalling ‘Yī zhě’ itself. It also emphasizes the educational approaches to return to its fundamentality along with reflecting on the phenomenon in which the role of religion has been deniedRESULTS First, we confirmed that current ‘the publicity’ concept which individual religious has performed has been used as the collective “You” or “Us” in relative standpoint. This approach to ‘the publicity’ has a risk for the religion to be marginalized in social system according to the power dynamic. Second, in order to present meaningful discourse on the public issues, it is necessary to restore the undifferentiated absolute, ‘Yī zhě’ on the premise of absoluteness and transcendence. Religious reflection is needed. Third, in order to secure the absolute, Yī zhě in religiose publicity, it is necessary to discuss additional methodologies for religious education.
