Study on the Application of Christian Education by Qodashim, Jewish Mishna

ABSTRACT

The purpose of this study is to provide alternatives for the qualitative growth and development of the church and restore the faith of the Korean church through Mishnah Kodashim, just as Jews have restored their faith through the life of contemplating, teaching, praying, and practicing the Word of God (Torah) in the face of hardship and adversity for thousands of years. The contents of this study were divided into four things; the essence of Mishna, the meaning of the synagogue, the main contents of Mishna Kodashim, and the application plan of Mishna Kodashim to Christian education. The applicability of solving the problems of the Korean church through Judaism Mishnah Kodashim was suggested; first it must be a “worship in memory of the grace that Jesus Christ shed by the sacrifice of Himself.” Second, “Christian church education” is important to remember, study, teach, and learn the history of Christianity, such as the “House of Learning” of the synagogue. Third, Christians should “learn and practice God s words seriously,” just as Jews obey Moses law and live. Now, the Korean church must set the direction of Christian education in Jewish spirituality and their lives, just as Jews have restored their faith through synagogues. The Korean church should serve in the work of preaching the gospel of the kingdom of God and transforming the world In this sense, the church should be understood as a “synagogue(church)” based on the prophet tradition, not as a “temple” of the ritual religion.
