A Study on Advisable The Future Buddhist Childhood Education and propaganda s Course

ABSTRACT

The purpose of this study is to bring out the importance and objectives of the Buddhist childhood education and propaganda. The study also suggests the practical methods and programs later on.Buddhist philosophy settled deeply in Korean culture since the Three Kingdom era and affected our ideology ever since therefore, Buddhist philosophy is well suited to act as a conceptual foundation stone for our children to establish their identity in order to build a stronger society in the future. And this notion includes the need for the merge of Buddhism and childhood education.For this purpose, I am taking a broad yet general notion, the establishment of the Buddhist educational environment and specify it as below:1. The doctrines of Buddha will be applied to the present education philosophy with its focus in the Buddhist Scripture. The Noble Eightfold Path, the Six Perfections, the Four Basic Standards, and the Three Learnings (Sam-Hak) from the Scripture will become the foundation of education philosophy.2. The Buddhist childhood education will become an active education and propaganda system according to the children's development stages that fulfills the expectations of future society3. The Buddhist childhood education will be applied not only in the temples but also at the education institutions and homes. Thus, the system needs to obtain conditions such as environment, education program, and professional development program reflecting Buddhist philosophy.As the study suggested, the Buddhist childhood education and present education shall not be applied separately but merged together. This will naturally lead to training new Buddhists; moreover, will positively circulate its education and propaganda continuously.The Buddhism is not an alternative solution for solving the problems occurring in present society, but it is the essence. The Buddhism suggests us to look back in one's life and provides solutions for all man to live life fully.
