The Task and Vision in Science of Buddhist Education

ABSTRACT

This article aims to study about the task and vision in the science of Buddhist education. In the aspects of identity, the science of Buddhist education have the double phases which can function to made science of Buddhist education as a typical studies. The first phase in the science of Buddhist education identity lies on the Buddhism which have the Buddhist wisdoms and doctrines. The second phase in the science of Buddhist education identity lies on the science of education as a objective studies. And so, the pursuit for balance and harmony between double phases which made identity directly means to accomplish the development of the science of Buddhist education. In order to get orientation of research areas in the science of education, we have to study the science of Buddhist education s identity based on double phases. In this article the research areas which are composed of research theme & contents and research frame & methodology were categorized by the discussion of the science of Buddhist education s identity. Like the part of discussion about science of Buddhist education s identity, the research theme contents and research frame and methodology need to pursuit the balance and harmony between the double phases: the particularity and universality. Finally, based on the foregoing discussion, the task and vision which seem to encourage development in the science of Buddhist education were suggested.
