Conceptual Model of Religious Education in the Korean School education

ABSTRACT

The purpose of this paper is to clarify the problem of religious education at secondary school in Korea and want to establish an adequate conceptual model of religious education in school. Result of this paper will be presented as follows. First, It can be pointed out the ambiguous of study of Religious Education related to dilemma of religious education in school. Second, Though multi-religious society, without consensus of related member of religious education in school, curriculum could be operated irregularly. Third, thought religious education as optional subject of liberal arts served in school, it is hard to select that subject because of burden of university entrance examination and theoretically as possible but lack of actuality related with discretion and extra-curricular activity. religious education with neighbor subject have no organical relation. Fourth, teacher education(promotion) and textbook should be reorganized as its object of religious education. Hidden curriculum will be supplement the regular curriculum also enhance the autonomy of private school, if it developed as minimize the conflict between student and school, maximize the effect of education. Fifth, there are lots of task overcomed ambiguous of object, overlap of content , teaching-learning and evaluation system etc. Sixth, among religious culture model and integrated model, at least on the stance of purpose of religious education, it should be make an effort to accept a merit and supplement a defect.
