The religious educational approach on Human nature

ABSTRACT

It is the beginning of education to trust in human. But, education after the modern period is conformed based on human reason, not based on human itself. It is appeared as a serious educational problems for absolute trust in the rational mental ability of man which excludes other abilities of man in the present day. It is the limit of knowledge-centered education of specifying man as a rationality in spite of positive contribution of that. Therefore, it would be the continuous theme of religious education to radically clarify the distorted understanding of reason-centered human nature, not simply pointing out the present educational problems.I discussed the perspectives of human nature in Buddhism and Christianity and explored the premises of the educational practice in the common base. It will contribute to the contemporary educational suggestion examining the general foundation of human nature in differentiated religious traditions and suggesting mutual understanding of educational perspectives.
