Identity of Koreans and Religion Education of Confucianism

ABSTRACT

Korea is a very complex society which has comlicated social structure and various religions. As a member of this, Korean identity can be verifyed by holding valuation in common and solidarity through an agency which on has positive affects.Since a history began, Confucian values have been used as a mean to maintaining social system, and also as a useful tool to forming values. In this aspect, Confucianism is an univesal value to Koreans and still stands in Koreans. Confucianism is in the middle of traditional education. Therefore Confucian values which considers human relationship important, consists of as aspect of korean identity by education. Confucianism that begins from mundaneness consider ethics and morals important in the ordinary life to be in an upright human relationship and at this point its religious role and educational role meet. In the view of identity issue and religion education, independent interpretation, which is seen in the process of expropriating all the phenomenon of culture and institues, works importantly.
