The problems of Korean Identity & Religious education

ABSTRACT

We can express the Korean identity as a whole of Korean life that means the whole of Korean culture. To discuss the identity of Korean culture, we can give a generic term to the specific tendency of entire human conduct as the way of human life in a broad sense. As the translation of identity in English, the identity of personal dimension generally means the senses of sameness, subjectivity and continuity. Futhermore it is formed between the certain personality and other objections, or among the certain groups and members of them. It means the positive self-image conformed on the basis of the unity and the stability which is acquired by mediating the role of the society and group. This paper suggests a necessity on understanding Korean identity for discussing the various dimension of human phenomena. It will throw a new light on the educational assignment for conforming the Korean identity of religious history.
