The pedagogical significance of cultivation of religiousness

ABSTRACT

This paper is intended as an investigation of setting the direction of religion of education for overcoming the limit of religious education in the view of educational point.We can classify the religious education in three categories. It should be differentiated into ‘education of religion’, ‘education about religion’ and ‘religious education’. The first one has derived from the religious organizations. The second one has developed from the history of religion. The last one should be the investigational dimension of education. But only few attempts have so far been made at the last one. ‘Religious education’ is to discuss the educational aspects of the religious phenomena and the religious cultures. This subject deserves more than a passing notice. Viewed in this light, I suggest in this paper that we need new educational domain to discuss the religious education in the view of educational part. This will be one of valid arguments to overcome the modern paradigm and heal the problems of knowledge-centralized present education.
