ABSTRACT

There is such as formula : I transcend, therefore I am. At this point transcendence means ontological leaping and epistemological jumping. Holding this meaning sets, I studied harmony topography between Kung Fu tra dition and human transcendence focused on Taoism and Zen Buddhism of eastern tradition. Both West and East emphasized learning of education for long time. But two paradigms of learning differed from educational mind. In West, modern learning corresponds to the accumulation of educational contents, that is, curriculum. In this context, contents are formed through subject - matters constructed by knowledge form of academic area. Therefore modern learning of West accords with learning of subject - matters. It is called Mul-Hak(物- 學). This Mul- Hak means the accumulative learning of concrete contents in educational practice. But the learning of eastern traditionran to special horizon on education. In this text, human learning tackled mind and alchemy of mind and heart. This learning concentrated on mind movement of daily world, and was studied cosmicorder of heart and mind by self cultivation. It is called Sim-Hak(心- 學). This is Kung Fu tradition of learning in eastern religion an dphilosophy. This Sim-Hak paradigm is directly treated human desires that cyclically birthanddie in side human mind. So Kung Fu of Sim-Hak was connected the problem of desires and it was problem of being to eastern. Because eastern people thought that the quality of being relied on to the quality of desires. In this as sumption, human being experiences successive desire movement designed by energy flow of decrease and increase. At this process, human being is emerged coordin at or of one' s desire for oneself. When human being continueself management and control of own desires, being can tran scend lower level toward higher level in self mind. This is tran scendental Kung Fu of learning. And, in eastern paradigm, it is called the self cultivation of heart and mind. This is Su-Yang(修- 養) Kung-Fu(工- 夫).Of course, Taoism and Zen Buddhism have been kept this tradition of Kung Fu. Concretely speaking, Taoism stressed true Self building of mind trough polishing desires. Also, Zen Buddhism accepted discovery of Buddha nature as a apogee of Kung Fu. In this context, true Self building of mind and discovery of Buddh a nature is equal to final accomplishment of human transcendence.
