A Study o f Buddhistic Education in Secondary level at the 7th Curriculum Revision

ABSTRACT

The purpose of this article is to explore the direction of Buddhistic Education in the viewpoint of thereligious education in secondary level which come in force on the 7th curriculum Revision in Korea . At 2002 years in 7th curriculum Revision, Buddistic Education as a form of religious education has a complete curriculums tructure of national level which has a formal criteria and educational account ability. In the light of curriculum forms of in s tructional methods about Buddhistic education, there are sharp contrasts between the science of religion approach and dogmatic approach.As many researchers has mentioned, the science of religion approach in Buddhistic education purpose to be educated a learner who can be only a intellectually understanding to thereligion. But in contrast to the science of religion approach, dogmatic approach are purpose to made learner a man of religion who believes only a religion. And so there are many practical attempts which persuade to compromise the conflict of religious and dogmatic approach in the field of Buddhistic education. This article are willing to opportunities which seeks to solve this curriculum issues to has been generated tensions and burdens in Buddhis tic Educat ion which take the opportunity in the 7th curriculum revision which are planned to act in Korean Secondarys chools at 2002 years.
