A Study on the Movement of Life Protection by Won Buddhism

ABSTRACT

The detailed features of Won Buddhism's life morals can be glanced at in the perception of Fourfold Grace. The Fourfold Grace stands for the source of universal creation and vital energy as a force generating all things and activating and transforming all living creatures. So- t'aesan, the Great Master, introduced his view on life, maintaining that all existences on the earth were originated from one force and one life. He believed that the Fourfold Grace as the origin of life is containing the interactive forces of reciprocal life and harmony. He viewed them as a fundamental for cultivating the life culture, referring them to the chain of cause and effect in a cyclic process . On the basis of his life morals, it is believed that the Aware-ness and Requital of Grace can be practiced in line with the movement of life this sense, a temple of Won Buddhism must serve to the function of bridgehead to establish life culture on. All organizations should, thus, try to realize the balance of moderation and consumption. Furthermore, our society as a whole should be able to develop the community spirit linked with cycle and life, while the government should fulfill its role by enacting the basic law of life morals in response to this seriously emerging is susue.
