The Mission of Catholic Schooling

ABSTRACT

The purpose of this article is to identify the mission of Catholic schooling and to survey the present state of the mission of Catholic schooling which was Catholic school member s perception about them. The church s role is especially evident in Catholic school. These are no less zealous than other school in the promotion of culture and in the human formation of young people. It is, however, the special function of the Catholic school to develop in the school community an atmosphere animated by a spirit of liberty and charity based on the Gospel. Teachers must remember that it depends chiefly on them whether the Catholic school achieves its purpose. The results of the data analysis reveled that the Catholic school member s perception s degree about the Catholic schooling is high tendency. But knowing what and knowing how is separate issues. Therefor, teacher s performance is primary factor in the Catholic schooling.
