Global Ethics And Religious Education of Korea

ABSTRACT

The world is processing with capitalism, neo-liberal market and empire situation in the 21st century. USA including European countries still have taken the initiative of power to the third world, and brought ecological devastation, militarism, war, regional hegemony, nuclear weapons. Global ethic which means to integrate whole world came out in globalization contexts. Particularly it emphasizes the religious peace. Global ethic showed religious peace a fundamental resolution. However, I think it can not affect huge change to the contexts. I see the debate of Hans Kng s proclamation, without religious peace, there is no peace in the world can be justified and hided the huge globalization and neo-liberalism, and then it can be made a reverse use.On the other hand, the process of religious education and religious worship in schools of Korea have to develope for choosing various types of programs, not for compel obligatorily. The quality of education in present school system will reconstruct in the wide view of peace education, and at the same time religious education has to search for the identity in it. The religious worship has to minimize, and school needs to reduce burdens to students who didn t get free choice of school according to the policy of ministry of government. Religious education can improve the liberal arts course with peace education, teach to have a respectful mind for the differences, and naturally accomplish to get dialogue with religions. The goal of religious education in 21st century is to grow up mature religious people having global outlook, human rights and peace, and the leadership guiding the reconciliation between religious conflicts.
