A Study on Structure of Religions in Korea(Ⅲ):On the focusing the Korea Baptist Convention, the Salvation Army Korea, the General Assembly of Presbyterian Church in Korea

ABSTRACT

This study analyzes the structure of major religions, the Korea Baptist Convention, the Calvation Army Korea, and the General Assembly of Presbyterian Church in Korea among the various religion in Korea. The Korea Baptist Convention is organized into 117 local association. It s Special feature of administration of religious affairs is not Dependent, but independent organization. The Salvation Army Korea s supreme leader(commander) is appointed by the international headquarters in London The Salvation Army Korea use symbolic army name in structure of organization and name. also and it focuses on social welfare rescue service. The main special features of the General Assembly of Presbyterian Church is centrality top down, steep hierarchy and higher complexity etc. A characteristics of Korean organizations of religions are ① a strong centralism, ② the hierarchical organization ③ an insufficiency of horizontal differentiation ④ low level of complexity. The religious order of Protestantism is higher than religious order of oriental affiliation in the level of horizontal differentiation and complexity On the other hand , an efficiency, a dispersion, and the autonomy in oriental affiliation (Buddhism, Won-buddhism, Cheondo Religions and Confucianism) s administration of religious affairs seem to be higher than the religious order of Protestantism.
