The Mediating Effects of Religiosity on the Relationships Between Ego-Resiliency and Personal Teaching Efficacy

ABSTRACT

The purpose of this study was to examine the mediating effects of religiosity on the relationships between ego-resilience and personal teaching efficacy of future teachers. The subjects for this study were 114 student teachers who were enrolled in the department of early childhood education at a Buddhist university in Gyoungsang-Do. Students responded Questionnaires. The collected data was analyzed through Spss Win 17.0. Correlation analysis and multiple regression analysis were conducted for the data analysis. The results were as follows: First, the scores of ego-resiliency and personal teaching efficacy were higher than the score of religiosity. Second, there were significant correlations between religiosity and ego-resiliency, between ego-resiliency and teaching efficacy, and between teaching efficacy and religiosity respectively. Third, there was a mediating effects of religiosity on the relationships between ego-resiliency and personal teaching efficacy of student teachers. In conclusion, it is necessary to encourage student teachers to experience religious activity in and out of the campus.
