ABSTRACT

The purpose of this study is to explore the status and tasks of Won-Buddhism s mind practice programs. To that end, the mind practice programs that are actively being used and the ones that are in precedent researches were explored and the future assignments for Won-Buddhism s mind practice program were suggested. First, the concept of Won-Buddhism s mind practice program should include not only the individual mind healing aspects but also the social aspects. Second, it is required to put more efforts to make multifarious programs instead of focusing on strong arguments about mind practice concept. Third, various kind of mind practice programs need to be composed through a broad range of Won-Buddhist scriptures. Fourth, it is required to consider the programs in various aspects to deliver the messages appropriately for each situations such as targets and steps. Fifth, it is required to put more attention and investment not only on the contents and values of the program but also to increase the formality and systematic aspect. Lastly, it is suggested that mind practice programs need to be verified and proved not only regarding the effect of programs focused on ‘self’ but also ‘We’.
