Effects of the Story-Discussion Activity about Fairy Tale Centered on The Six Pāramitās on the Preschooler’s Moral Judgment and Self-Regulation

ABSTRACT

The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of the story-discussion activity about fairy tales that centered on The Six Pāramitās on the preschooler’s moral judgment and self-regulation. This study was conducted by experimental research design. The subjects of this study were 26 preschoolers of age 4 at the D University Buddhist Kindergarten in G-si of Gyeongsangbuk-Do. Moral Judgment Inventory(Song Seung-jin, 2010) and Self-Regulation Inventory(Lee Sei-won, 2006) were used for this study. For data analysis, frequency analysis, descriptive analysis and t-test were conducted by using SPSS Win 18.0. The major findings of the study were as follows. First, the effects of story-discussion activities about fairy tales that centered on The Six Pāramitās was significant on the moral judgment ability of the preschoolers. Second, the effects of story-discussion activities about fairy tales which centered on The Six Pāramitās was significant on the self-regulation ability of the preschoolers.
