Method to invigorate personality education of Daesoonjinrihoi

ABSTRACT

This paper aims to analyse religious education’s properties which contains values for personality education. In order to maximize the efficiency of education in terms of Daesoon Thought. Religious education’s aim is to change people for the better, and this aligns with personality education’s aim. As mentioned above, religion contains features and ideas that tries to change people for the better, and even though the root of religion may differ, they all aims to achieve ethics of human beings. Thus if religion was to be comprehended as a method to change people for the better, this will also mean religion can be a potential method to make ‘healthy and right people’. In this point of view, this paper will analyse personality education in fields of Daesoon religious school, and will try to draw out efficient ways to invigorate personality education in terms of religious education. Furthermore in oder to achieve the ‘true goal’ of each and every religion, various methods of personality education must be put together and be developed. To do this, interaction between different religion should be expanded, current projects which have potential values should be embraced, and lastly the borderline between religions should not hinder the collaborative works between different religions in order to develop more efficient personality education. However personality education in correlation with ‘religious education’ should not become ‘education of religion’. Religion can be seen as a way to achieve personality education’s main goal, and this should not be seen as demands for religion. If one only aims to convert people and promote their own religion, the negative effect of religion will take effect. Also personality education in terms of religion will be limited to just another way to promote religion. So every religion’s personality education, including Daesoon, must be conducted within the boundaries of current society’s rules, and the education program must aim to change people for the better.
