Conflict Healing and Religious Education on the Daesoongjinrihoi

ABSTRACT

Conflicts in Korean society has been dealt with by in the field of social science like politics, economics, administration and etc. Therefore, to manage or to overcome any conflicts has been argued in the administrative or systemic factors. However, it is important to understand the human’s mind should be considered first since the conflict is one of emotional factors which human has in pursuit of their own desire. Otherwise, the approach to overcome the conflicts in the administrative and systemic is so questionable in reality. The conflicts must leave a scars in human mind and our society because the state of conflicts in our mind is represented to our society. So, the mental cultivations through a religious asceticism should be required in order to cultivate their own mentality and set up a new area to overcome the conflicts. Most of the new religions have offered new critical mind and view of the world unlike the established religions. It means that they can give us new alternatives to overcome any of the conflicts in our society. The purpose of this study is to reveal Religious education on the Daesoongjinrihoi for ‘conflict healing’ in a large frame of conflict and healing. In discussing conflict healing, we will first look at the interpretation of the conflict of Jeungsan and discuss Precepts and Ethical Rules provided by the Daesoongjinrihoi as an exercise for conflict healing.
