The Study on The Description of Realization about The Ten Ox-Herding Pictures: The Hidden Meaning in the Direction of Making Stanza from Hongren

ABSTRACT

The title of this paper is The Study on The Description of Realization about The Ten Ox-Herding Pictures. The subtitle of this paper is The Hidden Meaning in the Direction of Making Stanza from Hongren. This thesis suggests the new analytical approach to the contents of the real reason and secret fact which is not revealed in the another thesis and book on the study of The Platform Sutra. We do not know exactly about the person in the name of Hui-neng in the The Platform Sutra. The reason of this is from the teaching of Hongren. The thesis about the truth and secret about Hui-neng is not revealed from the history with the letter in the reason of difficulties that the meaning of the Seon cannot be represented with the letter. In this thesis I will describe this difficulties of representation of letter to analyze the real meaning of the The Platform Sutra. In this paper two things of the reason about the stanza order from the 5th Patriarch Hongren was described in the content of this thesis. Why does this Seon Master Hongren order the making the stanza to his pupils? Why does this Seon Master Hongren make this order in his life time in the history of China? Any thesis about Hui-neng and Seon Master Hongren was not try to find this fact of history with sincere mind of faith. This paper suggested the hidden meaning of Hongren to make Stanza to Hui-neng in the Table 12 and Table 13 with the using the Metaphor of the Ox-Herding Picture with The Platform Sutra.
